The Power of Prayer

Prayer is such a beautiful concept. We all have our own comforts with prayer. With all the methods of prayer that are practiced, they lead to a Divine being that we cannot see or touch. We can see it in our mind, feel it with our hearts and open up to its very presence by bowing to its greatness.

Prayer is such a beautiful concept. We all have our own comforts with prayer. With all the methods of prayer that are practiced, they lead to a Divine being that we cannot see or touch. We can see it in our mind, feel it with our hearts and open up to its very presence by bowing to its greatness. It’s a practice that we are drawn to in a time of need, contemplation or self-discovery. It’s our time, our space, and our moments that we share when we are no longer able to share with others or ask of others. We simply drop to our knees and open to the Being that stands before us. It’s so beautiful. And it’s ours. It’s our personal time that no one can take away.

Reflect back on the times you have prayed. Were they answered, did you feel heard? Prayers are answered when we are ready to receive. We are always ready to ask, but how often are we ready to receive…. meaning, react to the very thing that put us in a moment of prayer? A positive reaction will generate an answered prayer.

What space can we open up in our lives to allow the space of an answered prayer? The health of a friend who is ill, money, a better job, love, safety for your family and children, an escape to a new life. So many personal desires are asked of the Divine, but what are we willing to do to make space for the answers? What can we change, shift, purge or ultimately remove to allow the answers we are seeking to flow into our space? What decisions can we make that will change why we needed to pray? The answers are within us and will manifest our desires. Opening to your God and creating the space of prayer adds power to your energy source and ignites creativity, but it also creates a response to your prayer.

When we have what we want, and our lives are feeling blessed, do we drop on our knees in gratitude? Do we say thanks as often as we ask? The presence of the Divine, your God, your Spiritual place of worship is always present. You do not have to be in prayer, on your knees, or in a church to be in the presence of the Divine. It surrounds you always. Taking time to show gratitude, living as if you have received, and showing you are thankful will create such a powerful energy force. You have to be grateful for what you have before you can ask for more. If you truly feel you have nothing then show gratitude for the process put before you where you are going to learn and become creative in how to make room for what will serve you.

Sometimes having nothing is the best form of “something”. You are unlimited resources to create something with the “empty” you see before you. Look with your mind’s eye, your spirit and you will not see empty, you will see space and you can fill it when you are ready.

Prayer is beautiful. It is your time to talk to the Divine, an energy force so great that we cannot see it, but everyone in the world believes in an unseen force that guides them daily. Trust the presence of greatness and know you are being heard. Answers are waiting for your open space. Open your heart, show gratitude and make space for what you wish for. It’s coming to you.
